I copied ~/mail from the old desktop before it died, but not immediately
before. There are two mbox files (folders) I just copied from the last
backup before the system died that are larger than the ones I have on the
new host. This is because additional messages were added on the old desktop
since those files were copied, and new messages are in the new host's mail
files since the old system died.

Would rsync be the tool to extract those messages in the old file that are
not in the new one and copy them over? I've not tried to meld mail files
before so I have no experience to apply.
