I'm using Xubuntu 18.04, XFCE.

In other environments, if I copy a file I can paste it multiple times
in the same directory, with each copy getting a number saying which
copy it is. When I do that with Thunar 1.6.15, I can only make one
copy without renaming it before I can make a second copy. Is there a
way to change this?
I still use Thunar occasionally, but there are other file managers that
I like better. My favorite is PCFileMan, but I also have installed
Nautilus, Xfe, Caja, and Krusader. With PCFileMan I can paste as many
times as I want and it just asks me to change the filename for the copy.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

Well, PCManFM works, and I could get used to it, but I also installed Caja, and it does what I'm used to, so I'll probably go with it.

Thanks for pointing out that I could use another file manager.
