I've just been using the camera in my laptop for years. It works pretty well, though a bit annoying because I like to tilt my laptop screen away from me so the camera is pointed up and just barely catches my head unless I tilt the screen forward. After fighting with headsets I now just use the laptops built in mic and it seems to work just fine.
