not sure what KDE version you have installed - probably 5 - kde 5 is current -
consult your package manager or just try it.

If KDE 5: start KDE notification settings by:
  kcmshell5 module kcmnotify
then disable your KDE sounds as I suggested earlier.

I cannot remember how notification sounds were controlled in KDE4
