I've been using keepassxc for about a year and have no complaints. I use SyncThing to sinc the keepassxc database across multiple machines so have all the luxuries of the password manager but don't have to store them in 'the cloud'. I settled on keepassxc because it is cross platform and open source, so I have the same database on my phone, Linux PCs and Windows PC.
Never tried passwordsafe, so cannot comment on it.
