An easy way to debug is to start with something that works
and change things one at a time.

I spent HOURS trying to get an analog headset mic working
with Firefox ESR and two different web meeting sites.
Then I installed the latest Chrome, and got those sites
working in minutes.

The microphone also didn't work with Chromium, which is
"interesting". If I cared enough to debug, I would fix
Chromium, then Firefox, and delete closed-source Chrome.

Much Easier: we use Chromium for web meetings ONLY, and
Firefox for everything else.

This also provides security advantages. I don't trust the
security of most web apps, and I don't want them using the
same browser (and installing who-knows-what software) that
I use with more important sites and their passwords.

My unsubstantiated guess is that common web-meeting apps
use some patented protocols to move audio; Google, M$,
and Apple licence those protocols, Firefox does not.

Who knows what Google licenses from (or sells to) the
NSA ... or the Russian FSB?
