I'd recommend basic troubleshooting steps.

   1. Update the bios to the latest version
      1. Make sure all overclocking and power saving features are disabled
         1. I have a PC that will lock up if it idles down. I have to
disable some C states to keep it running.
      2. Try a live CD/thumb drive (multiple distros)
   3. strip down the computer as far as possible.
      1. CPU
      2. One stick of RAM (make sure it is in the correct socket!)
      3. Video card (if processor does not have video built in)
      4. keyboard
      5. HDD / live CD

Sleep issues are difficult to troubleshoot, but often it is driver related
and not always fixable.

Good luck!
