I enjoy a game of Sudoku now and then. The current version of Gnome Sudoku is a downgrade from the version I like. I kept the .dep file from my preferred version and have successfully installed it on a couple of machines in the past. I just tried to install it on my Xubuntu 20.04 machine and saw this:

rsteff@ThinkCentre-M58p:~/Downloads$ sudo apt install ./gnome-sudoku_3.10.2-0ubuntu3.1_all.deb

I really don't like that version of Sudoku.

Why did apt install decide it wouldn't install the one I want?

I know I can prevent "upgrading" it with Synaptic once it's installed, but Is there a way to force the use of the one I want?
