Since OBS studio needs a newer version than will build on the current
Slackware-14.2 (no, I'm not going to change distributions) I want to use
vokoscreenNG to record videos. This software does a great job using a
defined window displaying a PDF slide show and a window displaying what my
Logitech C925e webcam captures. But, there's no audio track.

My AudioTechnica AT2500USB condenser mic has dual output ports: USB and XLR.
The USB interface did not work so I bought a Focusrite Scarlett Solo pre-amp
with XLR input and USB output. That works well as see using pavucontrol's vu
meter bar on the Input Devices tab.

According to pavucontrol, my Yamaha CM500 headset works without
pre-amplification or an energy boost. But, when I try using it to record
using vokoscreenNG (with which the AudioTechnica works just fine) there's no
audio output in the recorded video. (Haven't tried the USB headsets yet).

What might be the reason for this? My understanding is that the Yamaha has a
condenser mic as does the AudioTechnica.

Any thoughts?

Rich
