Ditto. I don't want spectrum competition between Comcast and my own wifi, so I put an RF-blocking wire basket cage over my Comcast cable modem. Comcast has not earned the right to password-enclose public wifi bands across entire regions. In the early middle ages, this was called "enclosure of the commons", and transformed free farmers into serfs. My wifi is two access points: limited range private wifi, and also public bandwidth-limited (to half my bandwidth) Personal Telco wifi. Both currently offline while I upgrade my firewall.
