Thanks Daniel, that looks like a useful alternative ... ... for now. I tried it, nice search results. The question is, how will Mojeek be funded, long term? For now, visionary investors, but they may be replaced by inFESTors if they sell their shares to rapacious weasels. Google was just four principled dudes when it started (three geeks and a suit), and now they are ... well ... "alternately" principled. Absolute power corrupts ... This Mojeek blog post is interesting: https://blog.mojeek.com/2020/10/who-funds-mojeek.html The last paragraph is most interesting: > Up to now we have been funded by a group of private investors that > believe in our values and vision. So ... advertising may be coming, which is an awful waste of my time (and when it works, my money). Or charging for access, which is Neeva's model. In both cases, the results will depend on corporate charter, leadership, organizational ethos and endurance, and - MOST IMPORTANTLY - where the money comes from, and the direction that money pulls the cart.
