That's a common refrain. Similar to advising that one should make backups before needing them. This past Saturday. I restored the LV from its backup after a Mediasonic issue. Rebuilt the LV and restored its contents. On occasion I need a file that I had recently deleted and successfully restore it by copying from the most recent daily incremental backup. Over the past 25 years I've had only one server/workstation HDD failure. I fully restored the dirvish backups to a new HDD using rsync. Rich
