This is one of those things that was not bothersome enough to dig
into at
the time, and that has "fixed itself" after a reboot. At some point
yesterday image icons on the desktop stopped showing a thumbnail of the
image, and just had either GIF or JPG in a simple icon. This morning I
rebooted, and the thumbnails reappeared. And links in email started
opening in Brave instead of in Firefox. This reboot was not brought
on by
any upgrade, but just my hunch that the thumbnails might come back if I
rebooted. Sigh.
Dick,
I'm glad a reboot fixed it but thought that logging out and back in
would do
the trick. After all, setting a browser as the default should be up
to the
browser and not the system. But, guess that's not the case.
I didn't think to try logging out and back in. If it ever happens
again, I'll try to remember to try that.
It did happen again, and logging out and back in didn't help. But the
default browser remains Firefox. I looked at the Firefox
(hamburger)-Settings page. Pretty much at the top is a check box for
"Always check to see if Firefox is your default browser". Not only is it
checked, but it can't be unchecked. Anybody know why that is?
