The Unitus credit union branch manager says only 1% of their customers use safe deposit boxes. He also said that the software they managed them with requires an expensive upgrade, not worth it for the few box customers they have (or had). A thought occurred; if Unitus removes the boxes (and maybe the vault lined with them), perhaps we can purchase the entire vault and set up our own secure backup media storage facility.
