Today I uninstalled the Xerox color printer driver because it just won't let me print to the Dell color laser printer. And, somehow, web browsers hang when I try to download or upload a file. This happens with the Brave browser and Firefox. And only today, after I tried to use the color laser printer.
It stalls. When I try to download a file (or print the web page), or upload a file to fileconvoy.com a file selection dialog box opens, but I cannot change directories. The cursor is a clock (but should be a calendar since it never goes away), and the application becomes comatose. I need to kill the PID to shut it down. Restarting Xfce doesn't fix the issue; neither did a reboot of the system. I re-installed brave-browser but this does not cure the problem. So I thought I'd try firefox. No joy; same result. Have you ideas why this happens and suggestions how to fix it? Rich
