Looks promising. I don't have a lot of experience with Java programs
though. Having a hard time figuring out how to install it. I
downloaded the install.jar and tried opening it with the JRE java bin.
Also downloaded the source, but clueless there too. Only other Java app
I have run was Mindterm in Windows. This will be a first for me in
Linux though. Any suggestions?

jEdit has collapsing code blocks and works really nicely as a general
programming editor.
At first I wasn't thrilled about using an editor that takes forever to
load up (a couple seconds) but once I tried it I really liked how easy
it is to install plugins (as easy as firefox) and all the features.

I have been searching the internet for my dream editor and haven't had
much luck yet. Actually, I did find one that is very close (Quanta
Plus) but it is for KDE only and that doesn't work for me right now.
Qunata didn't do anything super special that other editors couldn't,
with the exception of collapsing code structures. It got me hooked on
that feature and I must have it once again. I've used a lot of editors
that work fine with syntax highlighting and all that, but I must have
collapsing code. I crave it. Otherwise I will stick with my usual
editor, vim. Any suggestions?
