For those considering DSL, news from a recent Xmission announcement.

*****
XMission is very happy to announce that we have decided to raise our DSL
bandwidth quota to 100 Gigs/Month in celebration of the new "7 Meg" DSL
tier that is now available.

Last month we mentioned QWest would be coming out with a new tier of DSL
service that would support up to 7 Megabit connections. As we made
preparations for these higher speeds, we decided it was the perfect time
to raise our base DSL usage quota to 100 Gigabytes combined. This quota
change is also in anticipation of our partnership in the UTOPIA fiber
optic network, which we expect to start signing customers up for next
month.

**
For only an additional $10/month to QWest, XMission DSL customers can
now
get up to 7 Megabit on their QWest DSL line. XMission is not charging
anything additional for this service but you need to contact XMission
technical support to have us make a small configuration change on our
end
to support the higher speeds. Please contact XMission Sales during
business hours to see if your phone line qualifies for this new tier of
service and to order it. Once ordered, you will need to wait about 5
business days. No changes in your DSL hardware is necessary.

We are pleasantly surprised at how many people are qualifying for higher
speeds regardless of past line tests. In some cases, we are finding some
people qualify for DSL who have never qualified for any level of DSL
service in the past. Please understand that few people qualify for the
full 7 Megabit but many are qualifying for at least 3 Megabit.
