Where the distro does not include an RPM, I tend to recommend building from source. I use mplayer plug-in with good results: http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/ With all the codecs, you can play anything that's out there right in your web browser. There is a handful of braindamaged sites out there -- mostly commercial -- that try broken Javascript and what not (and thus do not work w/ mplayer plug-in), but it hasn't been too much of a problem for me (I usually just go to a competitor's site that works).
