I'm sorry to post this twice but I'm afraid some people may not have seen them because they got buried in another thread.
Could somebody answer these questions? Does the MBR have to go on the same HD as Widows when you have a duel boot? Second, what good exactly is a /boot partition and what does it accomplish? Third, why didn't the command grub-install hd1,0 generate any errors when I tried it? Fourth, exactly what does the command grub-install /dev/hda do? Finally, does hda and hd0 mean the same thing to grub? Thanks.
