Xactware has an opening for a programming and administration position. Almost all of the systems to be administered are Linux. The programming is mostly Java.
If you're a programmer who likes to administer the machines your code runs on, or you just think hardware is fun, this might be the job for you. Here are the "official" requirements, but students with the right skills and interests will also be considered: Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, and 2+ years of related work experience. This position requires a great deal of knowledge of internet client/server technologies and experience administering enterprise web applications. Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of networking, server hardware, Unix based operating systems, and common protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL etc. Previous experience with enterprise level stress testing, tuning, and troubleshooting of hardware/software systems in support of internet based applications a plus. Resumes to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] According to www.xactware.com, MS Word is the preferred format (ugh), but I checked, and PDF or HTML are also accepted.
