If you guys have an Oracle background, then you'll likely want PostgreSQL because it is more Oracle-ish -- PL/pgSQL et. al. If you want a nice graphical user interface -- maybe something similar to TOAD or Oracle Enterprise Manager, then MySQL has better GUI tools.
