Clarification: Anything post PHP 4.1 will work. I use the superglobal $_SERVER

I get the following error when I run the program:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to
allocate 12 bytes) in /home/santbj/bin/wc.php on line 4

How do I increase the amount of memory php can use? I'm using PHP 4.4.0.

Edit the memory_limit variable in php.ini
