I would like to setup a simple RAID setup with either RAID 0 or RAID 5.
I have seen several $20, $80 and $120 raid controllers listed on newegg
all saying they will do "RAID 0,1,0+1 JBOD". None appear to be capable
of doing RAID 5. My primary concern is disk capacity, my second is
speed, and my third is redundancy. I assume RAID 5 would probably fit
best with my needs, but none of the cards I saw for $20, $80, or $120 do
RAID 5.

My first question is, is there a decent RAID 5 card within the $20, $80,
and $120 range?

My second question is, if I did do the RAID 0 setup, and if I noticed
one disk begins to fail, is it possible to somehow transfer the
remaining good portions to a different disk without having to rebuild
the whole array? The problem is that I am planing on having 4 x 250GB
drives. At 1 TB there would be no place to move ALL files off so I
could rebuild the array.

This setup is for a multimedia setup, so I am not too worried about
loosing some files, but I would like to be able to salvage what I could.
