My employer (Beat The Bookstore) is looking for an all around techno-
genius web/desktop programmer.
About Us:
We are a franchisor of college textbook stores - if you are from Utah
you may be familiar with our stores at the U, UVSC, Weber State, and/
or Utah State. We currently have 20 franchisees nationwide, and are
growing rather quickly.
Technology Involved:
We use Linux for as much as we possibly can - in-store systems,
servers, corporate environments, etc. If you have never used Linux,
please stop reading.
Our systems are written in a mixture of tools: Java, JSP, Ruby, RoR,
HTML, PHP, etc. To be considered for this job you really just need
to be proficient with object oriented thinking, provide examples of
code you have written in one of the above languages, and, most
importantly, be able to think and solve programmatic problems
creatively. MySQL is our database of choice - if you have never
touched MySQL then you should probably stop reading now too.
Requirements:
This is a full time position - the hours will be 8ish to 5ish 5 days
a week, with some on-call or evening work as well (releases,
scheduled maint, etc).
Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
3+ years experience writing software professionally is required
(experience while you were a student / before school is fine)
Excellent customer service <= This is a biggie - you will likely be
asked to deal directly with our franchisees - programmers who lack
the requisite social/communication skill need not apply.
You have to enjoy a fun working environment - we build in time to
relax - air hockey, fusball, basketball, movies, barbecue, etc.
A complete employment history will be required, and will be carefully
verified. Yes, we will actually call your references, friends,
parole officer, and anyone else you list. If you plan to lie about
your history/education, we'll find out about it, so please don't bother.
Salary is DOE, and will be based on experience and expertise.
To apply, please send resumes, etc. to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
(we also want people who can follow instructions - simple replies to
this email guarantee non-consideration.)
(Please forward this on to whomever you feel would benefit)
Thanks!
