Do you run Typo (and Rails) on Apache?  If so, I'd love to know
how you got it working.

I do a ProxyPass to Mongrel through Apache. If you Install Typo 4.0 via this method:

I believe it creates a sample httpd.conf that you can use to do the Apache Proxy stuff. Then you just start Typo and you're pretty much set.
