Windows defrag doesn't try to push all the data to the front of the
drive (nor does pagedefrag), it just tries to eliminate fragmentation.
If someone knows of a free utility that will do that I'd like to
know.

Ah, let me correct myself before someone else has to: recent versions
of ntfsresize will relocate your data for you. No need to defragment
first (especially since windows defrag doesn't move files to the front
of the drive anyway).
