if the directory were shared via samba or nfs, then you could open the file directly with vi (actually emacs, who uses vi?!?!)

Is it possible to open a file on remote server as if it were local? For example, you can SSH into a different box and then read the contents of a file with vi, but is there a way view the file in one step without SSH-ing into the remote box first? Can this be done with tunneling? /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
