SUSE runs great on a laptop.  It's the only distro I've tried that gets
power management (suspend2ram, suspend2disk, ...) right on my laptop
hardware.

With SUSE Linux Enterprise (Desktop or Server) you have to pay for updates,
but if you run openSUSE you do not have to pay for updates.
