Even relatively small attachments add up when you consider how many list
subscribers there are. If a message with an image attached is 10X the size
of the average plain-text message, that's a LOT more data for the server
(and the network its on) to deal with.

It's just a rule of thumb. Netiquette. I'm not the list administrator. Just
making a plea on behalf of the list as a whole. 

And, no, Wade, we shouldn't depend on the list administrator to take
responsibility for our poor judgement. No more than we should depend on our
government to step in when we make poor choices in life. Personal
responsibility! Blah blah blah.
