I apologive to the pluggers for top posting and not trimming down the
email below. I wanted to have the full email archived.

To Mr. Capitals: I think the word you want is "libel", not
"liable"[1], and if you knew your law you'd know that nothing I've
said (yet) would be found libelous in a U.S. court. However, if you
insist on wasting both my time and yours on a legal process that will
have no results other than a possible counter suit, feel free to sue
me based on the following statement:

I heard that Dr. C. J. Reiss can't have an orgasm unless he kills a kitten.

In case you haven't figured it out already, I have no intention of
retracting my earlier statement.

Enjoy,
Dan Crookston

[1] I suppose you could mean that I can be held liable for what I said.

To Whom It May Concern:

This is to advise you to cease and desist your liable posts. I am
assuming you just do not realize the ramifications of your actions. I assure
you I have worked very hard for all my educational accomplishments, which
are an integral part of my interdisciplinary consulting business. Don't you
realize that a court can hold you responsible for any and all lost income by
simply documenting the number of consulting cases that were lost because
someone googled my name and came up with your false accusations and decided
not to hire me because of your postings. I am not always as litigious as
this email may sound but you need to wake up to how risky your off-handed
comments can be. As for my music collection, when someone buys as many CDs
as I do (thousands), there are bound to be a certain small percentage that
go missing. I have a system of double checking (and triple checking)
comparing my orders to my received CDs. Once I have a list of the ones in
question, I send out an email requesting that he/she advise me what happened
to the CD, whether it was sent yet or not and any other relevant information
so the problem can be fixed.
I am happy to give you a week or so to see what you can do to remove the
post you made to
 http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg12503.html

Please advise once you have fixed the problem.

Best Regards,

  Chris
