I've been banging my head on this one for a while. I think I've narrowed the
problem down but I'm having trouble getting past this point. I had Ubuntu 6
installed until just recently and my wireless was a bit flaky but it was
working. Since I've upgraded to Ubuntu 7 I can't get it to work. The
computer seems to "see" the wireless broadcast. When I do `dmesg` it gives
me:

ipw2200: Detected Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection
ipw2200: Detected geography ZZM (11 802.11bg channels, 0 802.11a channels)

but then it gives me:

eth1: no IPv6 routers present

I think this may be the problem but I'm not sure. The reason I think it sees
the wireless connection is also because the GUI tool also seems to see the
connection. I'm not exactly sure how much of these messages is that the
computer sees the card on my machine. My router/modem is an Actiontec
supplied by Qwest.

So, what do these messages mean and are there any ideas on how I might
proceed? I'm thinking it may be the software on Qwest's side. There's
apparently an update for the modem but it apparently only comes in .exe
flavor. I think I might still be able to fix things on my end but I'm not
sure. I did get a ping to work last night but then when I tried to duplicate
the process it failed.

Thanks.
