I admit that there is some truth to Hans' supposition, so I don't
guarantee that they will agree to whatever rate you may want to
charge, but it's worth trying.  State your required hourly rate up
front, and if they agree to it, great.  Otherwise, no skin off your
nose.  Let me know if anyone's interested.  Sorry I haven't responded
right away, but I'm at RailsConf right now.  It's been fun.

Read: they laid off the entire IT department and now want to pay someone
peanuts to do IT.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about this other than what we all read in the
post, but that's what it sounds like to me. If you lay off Carl
Youngblood and then go fishing for contractors, you're not exactly
firing on all four cylinders.
