Hi, I know this question has come up on plug before, but the mailing list archives seem not to be searchable, (did I miss the search interface?) so I beg your indulgence:
What's the best place along the Wasatch Front to shop for an older/used laptop capable of running linux? I'm looking for a /very/ basic machine to sit quietly in a closet running a web server 24/7 while generating as little heat (i.e. consuming as few kW/h) as possible. Typical desirable laptop characteristics such as fast CPU, big disk, big memory, portability, graphics performance, and screen size are of no concern. Low power consumption and low cost are the primary objectives, and I'm guessing some kind of 5-year-old laptop would serve the purpose nicely. In the alternative, and in the spirit of plug coding exhibitions (/not/ competitions), submit a script in your favorite language which fetches and searches the monthly plug mailing list archive.gz files for a given regexp. :-) Thanks, Chris /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
