Most distros have PPC arch support for non-intel Macs.  Ubuntu has had
it until they dropped more long term support after 6.06.1 (or was it
6.10?).  Debian, Fedora, etc.  Yellow Dog Linux I believe is
specifically just for PPC as I remember...

You should have plenty of choices, just look for a PPC build.
