I have heard it said when I was in school (I have no source for this) that on average a person with at least an MS degree earns $1000000 more over the span of their career over someone with only a BS/BA.
This may or may not still be the case, and IIRC, the stat was general--covering all advanced degrees. With that in mind, I'd certainly believe it since that includes MBAs, MDs and JDs--which would definitely make sense. But, whether that stat applies to advanced degrees in other fields (technical or whatever else besides business, law, and medicine), I'm not sure it would necessarily hold.
