I usually agree with the positions of the Utah Taxpayers Association, but
they're diametrically opposite to me on this one. Their position paints
UTOPIA as some kind of Marxist. socialist project to infuse every Utah home
with atheist propoganda or something. They fail to acknowledge that UTOPIA
is poised to provide a level and breadth of service that both Comcast and
Qwest have been unwilling to do. And, more importantly, UTOPIA will do
this, not via government-mandated data services, but via
customer-determined service providers (i.e. the free market). It's a lot
more like a municipal airport than something like universal healthcare.

Comcast, for example, behaves like an airline that runs its own airport and
refuses to even discuss subleasing to other airlines.
