No, the economy is despressed, and it'd led to hard times for lots of
people, and that's been depressing. The media may echo and increase
the volume of the sentiment, but they certainly aren't the cause.
Fortunately, Utah is better off than a lot of places.
Sorry, I should have put a smiley after that sentence. However you
have to admit that a lot of people (stereotypically speaking) do
blindly watch the media, believe every word of it, and enact the self-
fulfilling prophecies found therein.
