Just a quick update. I've gotten several e-mails asking when PLUG will be back up. Rest assured, a lot of people have been helping with it. Here is the current status.
Corey Edwards has graciously donated a server (thank you!). Jason Hall dropped the server by my house today (thank you!). I have installed Linux, and managed to get a full backup of the dying PLUG server copied over. I'm about half way through the mail setup and general system config. I plan on dropping the new server in place tomorrow, then working to restore services as an on-going project (starting with the mailing list as highest priority) through next week. If anyone has any questions they can contact me off list: ryan at ryansimpkins dot com. Thank you for your patience. Expect intermittent service while the bugs get worked out. -Ryan PS. The new server is a dual PIII 1Ghz and has 3 36GB SCSI drives in a RAID 5 (adaptec RAID controller). So hopefully it will be very unlikley that we go through these pains again due to a failing hard drive. Unless we get really, really lazy... which just might happen. Never mind. All bets are off. :-) /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
