Wow, I seem to have hit a nerve.

So we are clear, I choose to live where there are roads, I choose to live where the water is sanitary, and yes, I choose to live where the Internet is fast and my ports are not blocked.

Just because I do not want yet another non-critical service regulated does not mean that I do not pay my taxes and use the existing infrastructure, nor does it make me a hypocrite for using what I pay for.

I *do* think that I should not have to pay for your poor internet access to be upgraded to what I chose to have, in a place you chose to live, nor do I think my taxes should pay for your sorry butt (or whomever's) at the doctor's office just because you/they chose a job or career that cannot pay for it.

It is not my responsibility (either individually, or socially) to provide you a good life; just the opportunity for one. The rest is for you to make good decisions and work hard for what you want (yes, including good Internet service, health care, or roads).

Oh, and if you actually paid attention, that makes me the complete opposite of a socialist.

Steve, I denounce you for the lazy, hypocritical slouch your are. I have
it on good authority that you do not have your own ground pump and water
purification system, but instead depend on the government to provide you
with a safe supply of water. I also have evidence that you did not pave
the rode your drive from home to work every day. Instead, like a leach
you have attached yourself to a transportation system built largely with
other people's tax money. Despite your protestation, you clearly
appreciate the benefits of regulated industry. You have not bravely
disconnected from the Utah power grid, but instead remain a slave to
cheap and convenient power. In short, you sir are the worst sort of
socialist: a hypocritical socialist.
