This is a role that will work closely with our clients customers and will require some travel (up to 50% however more likely at 25-30%) in product demonstrations, proof of concept deployments and actual product rollouts. Candidates need to have strong PERL capabilities and be very comfortable working with customers. The ideal candidates will have some development background with Perl and/or Python and strong linux knowledge. Required Skills: 1. Must know PERL 2. Must have strong Linux experience (redhat preferred - not required) 3. Must have strong Communication skills and be personable - able to interface well with clients 4. Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Preferred Skills: 1. Previous experience in a Professional Services role 2. Previous integration experience Ideal candidates will have some experience with software development, software integration, previous experience working with clients and are technically competent and confident. This role will work closely with sales teams and clients to help with product demonstrations, working with clients to handle proof of concept through delivery of the solution and training. Job Summary. All Services engineers perform the following functions to one degree or another. However, most have one or two areas where they focus their efforts. Solution Scoping and Architecting. Work with customers to determine customer needs and current situation. Develop proposed solutions and estimate level of effort and time lines for proposed solutions. Effectively present solutions to customers and other co-workers. Implementation and Integration. Follow pre-architected statement of work to implement solutions. Ability to work against set deadlines. Implement solutions with a closed environment for testing and development. Working closely with the customer, implement solutions in the field that may include integration with third-party and custom software solutions. Software Development. Develop software integration solutions. Customer Interaction. Interact with customers on the phone in pre-sale, demo, and support roles. As required, work on site directly with customers to build and deploy solutions (up to 50% of the time). Training. Train small and medium groups in the use of software and other technologies.
