<rant>This is why I hate Spanish. If the speaker isn't expressing
certainty, then don't use a normal conjugation to do it. Use the
subjunctive syntax, and people who aren't native Spanish speakers (most
of the world) will make the forgivable of using a normal
conjugation.</rant>
