Today I came across sysexits.h, which defines a standard list of exit status codes. It seems to have come from sendmail, but BSD includes a sysexits(3) man page and BSD's style(9) man page encourages people to use these codes. Unfortunately, I've done a few web searches, but I can't find much discussion of the issue. Does anyone actually use the codes from sysexits.h, or is it just a waste of time to worry about?
