If you've been following any of what we've been trying to do in Afghanistan and Pakistan the last few years then you will understand and appreciate why his body was buried at sea, within 24 hours of death, as per the requirements of Islam. The battle against the Taliban and like-minded groups over in that part of the world will not be won except by showing respect to the predominant religion of the area. Related to that, I for one was highly embarrassed by the images splashed across the world today of students celebrating in the streets. Almost everyone is happy Bin Laden is gone, but worshiping our own might isn't going to do much to ingratiate ourselves to those we need to win over. I greeted news of his death with sober satisfaction. Despite the recent 60 minutes expose, "Three Cups of Tea" and it's sequel, "Stones into Schools" are must read books for anyone interested in what could and should happen to us in that part of the world. Another book (just starting it now) is Senator Bond's book, "The Next Front" which is all about terrorism in Asia. /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
