I'm pretty sure he  said that he's moving a hard  drive into a different
laptop, not moving the filesystems, so  he can avoid all the headache of
reinstallation/reformatting.  He  shouldn't  have to  do  anything  with
respect to  the UUIDs since they  are, as you say,  filesystem specific,
right?
