For those who would like to get a better understanding of what the currently widely accepted state of cosmology is, I found a nice tutorial site that explains things fairly well. Some of my explanations of things in our previous discussion turn out to be somewhat less correct than I thought they were, though I don't think they were completely wrong.
Anyway, there's both a tutorial that goes over the basic ideas behind current cosmology as well as a FAQ that answers things like "Is the universe infinite or just really big?" and more about evidence for the big bang. Here's the site: http://www.astro.ucla.edu/~wright/cosmolog.htm If you want to get into more bizarre stuff that's still on fairly solid theoretical ground, you can check out Max Tegmark's "crazy" page: http://space.mit.edu/home/tegmark/crazy.html --Levi /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
