Hello pluggers,

I've had mixed success with videos and photorec in the past. What other
tools have you used with success to recover videos from a phone before? I
have a 32gb vfat formatted microsd card in one my phones. I recorded a
video yesterday, and tried to upload it to youtube just to keep it in a
safe place. A little bit of disaster struck, as the video never completely
uploaded, and when I went to try again, the last two video files I recorded
are corrupt and empty. :(

I'm capturing a dd snapshot to an alternate media source now in preparation
to use recovery tools.

supaplex@supaplex-laptop ~ $ file -sk /media/CFBB-6773/DCIM/Camera/*m4v
/media/CFBB-6773/LOST.DIR/*
/media/CFBB-6773/DCIM/Camera/VID_20120619_122607.m4v: empty
/media/CFBB-6773/DCIM/Camera/VID_20120704_155829.m4v: ISO Media, MPEG v4
system, version 1\012- \0\012- \0 TEXt\011\011AportisDoc file\012- \0
/media/CFBB-6773/LOST.DIR/178186: ISO Media, MPEG v4 system, version 1\012-
\0\012- \0 TEXt\011\011AportisDoc file\012- \0
/media/CFBB-6773/LOST.DIR/196315: byte-swapped Berkeley vfont data

All playback of these files are completely spastic random color blocks and
static.

Any tips and extra help welcome.

Thanks,

Scott.
