Sounds like it's probably not. I'm not a Debian user, but I would start by checking /etc/crypttab. You should see something like: $ sudo cat /etc/crypttab luks-eb0221b9-b2a5-48ee-a60e-d357f81aaa7a UUID=eb0221b9-b2a5-48ee-a60e-d357f81aaa7a none > * If it isn't, can I add encryption now, or do I have to re-install? If you have spare storage it is possible but painful. I've done it by hand with mkfs/cryptsetup/etc. (Hopefully you used LVM or, a year from now, btrfs.) The only higher level tools I'm aware of are installers. Frankly, unless you've already spent a lot of time configuring the system I would just re-install. > * If I have to re-install, how do I get encryption? Switch to Fedora. ;-) /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
