Doing raid 1 on top of raid 0 devices is called raid 0+1, and is not the
same as doing raid 0 on top of raid 1 devices: raid 1+0 aka raid 10.
The latter can withstand a much larger combination of failed components
whereas the former can only withstand failures when they all occur within
the same half of the single mirror.
