And it needs to be able to do that when the workstation is (unfortunately) Windows as well as when it's Linux. I know Windows has RDP support built in, so that much is easy. But I'm trying to ensure that whatever I do while remotely connected isn't mute/video only. * * * *I know playing a video is a bad example, but it's the best I can think of off my head. If I open an AVI/MPEG/flash/whatever in mplayer or vlc or another player program on the Linux server while connected to it via rdesktop (or vnc) on my windows (ugh) computer, will I hear the sound in the video?
