I made it out there, and had a similar experience. The march to the fence to tie the red, white and blue ribbons was particularly nice. I was disheartened at first by the wide variety of opinions coming from disparate groups, but the fact that everyone was able to focus on the core issue of our fourth amendment rights was really cool -- and the variety of backgrounds really shows this is an issue that touches on Americans from all walks of life, not just techies. I was glad the newspapers were as kind as they were -- there were people saying some really, really crazy stuff.
